Stillwater parent and gifted photographer, Wayne Murphy, kindly volunteered his talents, along with Trish Pandina, to take photos of our students this fall. In their art sessions with Barbara Beckwith, these photographs were then sketched by students of all grades. They are beautiful, and selected pieces will be featured in a wonderful exhibit at MW SPA (1103 South Main, Kalispell) on Friday, December 13, from 5 to 7 p.m. Artwork will be offered for purchase, and proceeds will benefit the SCS Art Dept. and the Montana Woman Foundation Scholarship Fund.
Be a part of the Ben Carson Reading Challenge! Click on the headline for more details. The club is a school-wide reading incentive modeled after the challenge that Ben Carson's mother gave him when he was in 5th grade. SCS students have been challenged to meet a weekly page goal adjusted for each grade and limit their media (TV and movies) to 2-3 times per week. This is an excellent opportunity to develop the important habit of regular reading.

At Stillwater Christian School our desire is to equip students with the tools for learning. Our view of education is similar to the old adage that if you give someone a fish you feed him for a day, but if you teach him to fish, he can feed himself for a lifetime. In the same way, the academic endeavor at Stillwater is not an end, but rather a means to the end of developing graduates who are able to continue through a lifetime of learning. We call these tools grammar, logic, and rhetoric; and the educational program at Stillwater is built around infusing these three elements into every learning opportunity.
