40 Days of Prayer – Day 32

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God; I will strengthen you, I will help you, I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.  Isaiah 41:10

There are many Bible verses that promote courage and strength, but one of the best verses that does this is the one in the forty-first chapter of Isaiah.  It is meant to be a verse of encouragement and inspiration.  God is telling us that no matter what, He will never abandon us.  We cannot take God for granted, however, as this will lead to ruin. When Solomon was in his early years, he was a God loving individual who put all of his faith and trust in the Lord. Later in his life, though, he took a dark turn and stopped trusting and being faithful to God. The older he got, the less he trusted in God and the more wives he took. This can be an extremely compelling lesson to us as believers in Christ.  The only way that we can live faithful lives in Christ is to trust Him completely. We cannot just believe in Him, we have to show our belief by letting Jesus take control of our lives instead of relying on human fallibility to get us through tough times. The more we rely on ourselves to accomplish hard things, the more that we will fail, and that is a fact.
