SCS Announces New Head of School – Dr. Laura McCollum Ed.D
Stillwater Christian School is pleased to share that Dr. Laura McCollum has been selected as the next Head of School. Dr. McCollum is committed to serving and leading the Stillwater Christian community in this role for many years to come. She brings an abundance of experience, knowledge and skills to strengthen our foundation as a Christian classical institution.
Dr. McCollum comes to Stillwater with a robust educational background, having earned the Ed.D. in Curriculum & Instruction from Seattle Pacific University, M.Ed. from Southern Oregon University, and B.A. in History & Political Science from Pepperdine University. Over the span of her career, she has operated as both an administrator, and educator, in public and private PreK-12 educational institutions. In addition to her experience as a teacher, head of school, principal, Director of Institutional Effectiveness, provost, and Chief Academic Officer, Dr. McCollum is also a seasoned higher educational professional and executive. Her roles have included: Director of Assessment at Oklahoma-Wesleyan University, Associate Professor of Education, regional chairman for all teacher education programs at National University in Redding, CA, and the Academic Dean and Vice President for Institutional Effectiveness at Patrick Henry College in Purcellville, VA.
During the national search process, the committee concluded, “Dr. McCollum proves to be highly qualified for the position and stands out even when evaluated against a national pool of candidates. As a servant leader who encourages those around her to pray and be immersed in scripture, Dr. McCollum demonstrates a passion for making Christ preeminent in all things.” As we continue to focus on Scripture, Character, and Service, in partnership with parents and their local churches, we believe that the Lord will be honored and glorified in the Flathead Valley and beyond.
