Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is, seated at the right hand of God. Set your minds on things above, not on earthly things. For you died, and your life is now hidden with Christ in God. When Christ, who is your life, appears, then you also will appear with him in glory. Colossians 3:1-4
The primary message of these verses is to remind us that our identity is not found in this world, but in that of the one who created us. To truly be Christians, we must strive to portray Christ in every circumstance of our lives and also to shift our heart’s desires of the material things of this world, to things that are of eternal value, which only God can give us. We are sinful in our nature, and therefore naturally desire the things of this world like money and status. But God does not look at our wealth or popularity to determine who will be in the Kingdom of Heaven. In fact, in Mark 10:25 Jesus tells his disciples, “ It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich person to enter the kingdom of God.” Whether our hearts are set on Him and our identity is in Christ or not is the condition of whether we will spend eternity with Him in His glory or be set apart from it forever. Heaven should be our ultimate goal, and as Christians, we should be living examples of the one who laid His life down for us, so that many others can also share in the gift of salvation.

- Pray for safety as the students and parents travel to and from school.
- Thank Jesus for modeling true humility as he washed the disciples' feet. Ask him to give you a servant's heart.
