Identity in Christ

Day 39

Thursday, May 30, 2019

For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.  Romans 8:38-39

Nothing can ever separate us from the love of God in Christ. All Christians ought to rejoice in this! We should have no fear, no doubt, no worry because when Jesus died for our sins, he ensured our place in heaven with God if we believe in the gospel wholeheartedly. These two verses should give us hope and reassurance; they should give us a sense of belonging. We are God’s children and He is our Father; what could be more everlasting than this? I am deeply and confidently secure in God’s love for me. I know that God will save His people, I know that He will fulfill His promise and because of this, I know that nothing can separate us from the love of God. At times, it can most definitely feel like we are alone and insecure, but we are not because God is omnipresent. He is always there, even at our darkest moments and He will comfort us and guide us. As Christians, we are put to death all day long, but God tells us that we should not be afraid of death because to be away from the body is to be at home with our Father. We should remain fearless in the Lord and we should be comforted that His love will never depart from us, a daily reminder that so many of us forget.

Prayer:

  • Give praise and thanks for Becky Neumann for the ways she enriches our children’s lives daily in the STEAM Lab and working with the Yearbook students.
  • Pray for the senior class as they near graduation, that they would seek God as they plan for and anticipate the next stages of life after high school.
  • Give thanks that nothing can separate you from the love of Jesus (Romans 8:35).
