Band functions as the primary music class for all 5th and 6th grade students at Stillwater. They receive instruction 4 days per week and perform each semester. Students also have the ability to take lessons at school with the music faculty at no additional cost. 7th and 8th grade musicians combine into one band that is offered as an elective, as well as the 7th/8th grade percussion class. In high school, we offer Wind Ensemble. The High School band at Stillwater performs at various events throughout the academic year including our annual Christmas and Spring Concert series, our department fundraiser called "Evening of the Arts," and our Stillwater Music Festival. The program regularly receives superior ratings at various music festivals and has a rich history of exciting trips and community performances. Every other year the band goes on tour in the spring, visiting college music programs and performing in new and exciting places.
